Indian Rupee Font now on Keyboard by TVS


TVS electronics has unveiled a keyboard which will have the new Indian rupee sign on it. The keyboard called TVS Gold Bharat Keyboard has become the first company to have the new Indian rupee sign, the company claims. Many experts believed that it will be very difficult to bring the rupee sign on the computer when the new rupee symbol was approved on July 15 by the Indian government. But soon a company called Foradian Technologies launched a downloadable font which made it possible to include the new Indian rupee font in whatever you are typing on the computer.


The TVS Gold Bharat Keyboard has the dimensions of 490(L)x180(W)x20(H) mm and supports up to 50 million strokes per switch. It has a very light touch operating force of 60 + 15 cN. The keytops are etched by laser and are wear resistant the company claims. The Keyboard operates at voltage of 5v + 10 percent at a supply current of 10mA, Its supports both USB and PS2 interface for connectivity. Its storage temperature is 40-60 degrees Celsius, while the operating temperature is 50-40 degrees Celsius.

The TVS Gold Bharat Keyboard has a cherry mechanical Switch and the feel is click tactile. TVS claims that the keyboard is highly reliable as it has a 200,000 hours mean time between failures. TVS has priced the Gold Bharat Keyboard at Rs. 1,495
